Which Airbus aircraft is the company’s longest production passenger airliner?

The story behind the answer

The Airbus A350-1000 is Airbus’s longest production passenger airliner.

The A350-1000 has a length of 73.79 metres, making it longer than the A350-900 and longer than the A330-900. It is designed for long-haul routes and normally carries more passengers than the shorter A350-900.

The aircraft is powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines and uses the A350 family’s composite-intensive structure. Its stretched fuselage gives airlines additional seating capacity while retaining the family’s common flight deck and many shared systems.

The A340-600 was slightly longer than the A350-1000, but it is no longer in production. That distinction explains a common mix-up: the A340-600 was historically Airbus’s longest passenger aircraft, while the A350-1000 is the longest member of Airbus’s current production passenger range. The A380 remains larger overall but is shorter in fuselage length.
