Which Airbus aircraft first flew on 14 June 2013?
Answer
Airbus A350 XWB
Answer
Airbus A350 XWB
The Airbus A350 XWB first flew on 14 June 2013.
The prototype, registered F-WXWB, departed Toulouse–Blagnac Airport on a flight lasting more than four hours. It was the first step in a certification campaign for Airbus’s new twin-engine wide-body family, developed primarily from carbon-fibre-reinforced polymer composites and powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines.
The A350 entered commercial service with Qatar Airways in January 2015. Airbus originally used the “XWB” suffix for “extra wide body,” but later marketing generally shortened the name to A350. The first-flight date should not be confused with the date of the first customer delivery or the later introduction of the A350-1000 variant.
