Which actress voiced Tommy Pickles in the original series?

Which actress voiced Tommy Pickles in the original series? The answer is E. G. Daily.

E. G. Daily provided Tommy’s voice throughout the original Rugrats television series, which ran from 1991 to 2004. Tommy is the show’s central baby: curious, adventurous, and usually the first to lead the other children into an imagined crisis. Daily’s performance helped define the character’s distinctive toddler voice.

Daily was not the voice used in the unaired pilot. Tami Holbrook performed Tommy in that early version, but Daily replaced her for the broadcast series and re-recorded the first episodes. This pilot detail is the main reason the answer can sometimes be confused when fans compare early production material with the finished show.

Daily also voiced Tommy in the Rugrats films and in the sequel series All Grown Up!, which followed the characters as preteens. She returned to the role for the 2021 Rugrats revival. The other options are associated with different characters: Kath Soucie voiced Phil and Lil, Christine Cavanaugh voiced Chuckie, and Tara Strong voiced Dil.
