Which actor provides the English voice of Master Shifu in Kung Fu Panda?

Dustin Hoffman provides the English voice of Master Shifu in Kung Fu Panda.

Master Shifu is a red panda and the strict martial-arts teacher responsible for training the Furious Five and, eventually, Po. Hoffman’s performance balances Shifu’s disciplined exterior with impatience, affection, regret, and gradual emotional openness.

The voice cast includes several prominent actors whose characters are easy to mix up. Ian McShane voices Tai Lung, the first film’s escaped villain, while Jackie Chan voices Monkey. James Hong voices Mr. Ping, Po’s adoptive father, rather than Master Shifu.

Shifu’s relationship with Po forms the emotional core of the original film. He initially doubts Po’s ability but changes his teaching methods after realizing that conventional training does not suit his unusually motivated student.
