Which actor plays Hal Jordan in the DC series Lanterns?

Kyle Chandler plays Hal Jordan in the DC series Lanterns.

In the series, Jordan is an experienced and legendary member of the Green Lantern Corps who is approaching retirement. He is assigned to train John Stewart, a new recruit, while the two investigate a murder in rural Nebraska.

The production’s version of Hal Jordan is older and more experienced than many earlier portrayals. The creative team drew inspiration from Sam Shepard’s portrayal of test pilot Chuck Yeager in The Right Stuff. Chandler’s dry wit and grounded screen presence were considered important qualities for this interpretation of Jordan.

Nathan Fillion plays another Green Lantern, Guy Gardner, while Aaron Pierre portrays John Stewart. Josh Brolin was reportedly considered for Jordan before Chandler was cast, but Brolin did not take the role. Ryan Reynolds, who played Jordan in the 2011 film Green Lantern, does not reprise that role.
