The Cuckoo’s Calling was revealed in 2013 to have been written by J.K. Rowling as Robert Galbraith.

The novel was published in April 2013 and introduces private detective Cormoran Strike. Strike investigates the apparent suicide of supermodel Lula Landry, whose death has attracted public attention and conflicting explanations.

The book initially received attention as the debut novel of an apparently new author. Rowling’s authorship was exposed by a linguistic analysis reported in the press, and she later confirmed it.
