Which 2010 Need for Speed game introduced the Autolog social platform?

The story behind the answer

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit introduced the Autolog social platform in the 2010 series reboot.

Developed by Criterion Games, the 2010 Hot Pursuit used Autolog to turn racing performance into a social competition. The system connected friends, tracked records and statistics, and recommended events based on what players and their friends had done. Its speedwall-style features also let players share achievements, comments and photographs.

Autolog fit the game’s central rivalry between racers and police. Instead of relying only on traditional multiplayer races, players could post a time or score and challenge friends to beat it. The feature helped make single-player progress feel connected to a wider community, even when players were not racing simultaneously.

The game is sometimes confused with later entries that also used Autolog, including Need for Speed: The Run, Shift 2: Unleashed and the 2012 Most Wanted reboot. Those games extended the platform, but the 2010 Hot Pursuit was the first Need for Speed title to introduce it. Hot Pursuit launched in November 2010 and was set in the fictional Seacrest County.
