The Other influenced Peter Parker’s power transformation in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The Other is a Spider-Man comic storyline published from 2005 to 2006. It explores Peter’s connection to the deeper, mystical aspects of his spider powers and includes major changes to his abilities and identity.
Brand New Day draws on that idea when Peter’s powers begin evolving under the pressure of his isolation and relentless crime-fighting. The film gives him fully black eyes at times, heightened senses, and organic webs generated from his wrists.
The Other is different from the 2008 comic storyline Brand New Day, which inspired the movie’s title. One More Day is also a separate preceding storyline about a reality-changing bargain involving Peter and Mary Jane.
