Which 1963 Chevrolet Corvette coupe is famous for its divided rear window?

The story behind the answer

The 1963 Chevrolet Corvette coupe famous for its divided rear window is the Corvette Sting Ray.

The split rear window was a defining feature of the first C2 Corvette, also called the Sting Ray. It divided the glass with a narrow body-colored spine running down the center of the rear deck.

The design came from stylist Bill Mitchell and designer Larry Shinoda. Chevrolet offered the split window only for the 1963 model year, making it especially recognizable and collectible.

The feature was removed for 1964 because drivers complained that the central divider restricted rear visibility. The name is sometimes written “Stingray” today, but the 1963 car used the two-word “Sting Ray” spelling.
