Henriette Jæger won the women’s 400 metres at Birmingham 2026 in 49.04 seconds.
Jæger represented Norway and produced both a European-leading performance and a Norwegian national record. Poland’s Natalia Bukowiecka finished second in 50.04, while the Netherlands’ Lieke Klaver took bronze in 50.15.
The result underlined Jæger’s versatility. At the same championships she also helped Norway win the mixed 4 × 400 metres relay, where the team set a championship record of 3:09.62.
The 49.04 result belongs to the individual women’s 400 metres final. It is different from Jæger’s 49.42-second anchor split in the mixed relay, a distinction that matters because relay splits and official individual race times are reported separately.
