What weapon does Zoey use in combat in KPop Demon Hunters?

Zoey uses shinkal throwing knives in combat in KPop Demon Hunters.

Zoey is Huntrix’s main rapper, lyricist, and maknae, meaning she is the group’s youngest member. Her shinkal throwing knives suit her fast, agile fighting style and visually distinguish her from her teammates.

The other two hunters use different weapons. Rumi wields a saingeom sword, while Mira fights with a gokdo polearm. These distinct weapons help the action scenes communicate each character’s role without relying only on dialogue or costumes.

Zoey is Korean American and was raised in Burbank, California. Her character combines a modern idol identity with a supernatural warrior identity, just as the movie combines K-pop performance with fantasy combat. The word “shinkal” refers to the knife weapon associated with her character in the film.
