What was the title of The Supremes’ 1966 studio album that included “You Can’t Hurry Love”?

The story behind the answer

The Supremes’ 1966 studio album containing “You Can’t Hurry Love” was titled The Supremes A’ Go-Go.

Released by Motown in August 1966, the album became a major commercial success for Diana Ross, Florence Ballard and Mary Wilson. It reached number one on the Billboard 200, making The Supremes the first all-female group to achieve that position on the US album chart.

The album combined original songs with covers and was produced largely by Motown’s Holland–Dozier–Holland songwriting and production team. “You Can’t Hurry Love” appeared on the album and became one of the group’s signature singles.

The title’s apostrophe reflects the period’s fashionable “go-go” branding. It should not be confused with the group’s earlier album Where Did Our Love Go, released in 1964.
