What was the title of Johnny Cash's first album for Columbia Records?

The story behind the answer

The title of Johnny Cash's first album for Columbia Records was The Fabulous Johnny Cash. Released on November 3, 1958, it was Cash's second studio album overall, following Johnny Cash with His Hot and Blue Guitar!, which had appeared on Sun Records in 1957.

The album marked Cash's move from the influential Memphis label Sun Records to Columbia, where producer Don Law guided his early work. Its 12 tracks included Cash originals such as "Run Softly, Blue River" and "That's All Over," alongside songs by other writers. The Jordanaires supplied backing vocals, connecting the record to the polished Nashville sound of the era.

Although its playing time was only about 29 minutes, the album was commercially successful. It sold more than half a million copies initially and reached No. 19 on Billboard's Best Selling LPs chart. A common mix-up is confusing it with Songs of Our Soil, which was another early Columbia album, released in 1959.
