What was the title of J.K. Rowling’s first novel about detective Cormoran Strike?
Answer
The Cuckoo’s Calling
J.K. Rowling’s first novel about detective Cormoran Strike was The Cuckoo’s Calling.
The novel was published in 2013 under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. It introduces Cormoran Strike, a private investigator and former military police officer, and Robin Ellacott, who becomes his temporary secretary and an important investigative partner. Their first case concerns the death of supermodel Lula Landry.
The book initially attracted attention as the work of an apparently new author. Rowling’s authorship was revealed later in 2013 after a linguistic analysis and subsequent confirmation. She continued the series under the Robert Galbraith name.
The later Strike novels include The Silkworm, Career of Evil, Lethal White, Troubled Blood, The Ink Black Heart, and The Running Grave. The series has also been adapted for television as Strike.
