What was the title of J.K. Rowling’s 2020 standalone children’s book about a boy named Jack?

The Christmas Pig is J.K. Rowling’s 2020 standalone children’s book about a boy named Jack.

The story follows Jack, whose beloved toy pig goes missing on Christmas Eve. A replacement toy, the Christmas Pig, helps him enter a magical world where lost things are found. The adventure centers on friendship, loss, courage, and the emotional importance of treasured objects.

The book was published in October 2021, despite the story and promotional description often being associated with the 2020 announcement of the project. It was Rowling’s first children’s novel since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and The Tales of Beedle the Bard.

The Ickabog, another Rowling children’s book, was published in 2020 and is therefore a frequent mix-up. However, The Ickabog is a separate fairy-tale novel, while The Christmas Pig is the story specifically centered on Jack and his toy.
