What was the publication date of J.K. Rowling’s final Harry Potter novel?
Answer
21 July 2007
J.K. Rowling’s final Harry Potter novel, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, was published on 21 July 2007.
Bloomsbury released the book in the United Kingdom, while Scholastic published it in the United States on the same date. The launch was a major international publishing event, with midnight sales and large crowds at bookstores.
The novel concludes Harry’s confrontation with Lord Voldemort and resolves the central mystery surrounding the Deathly Hallows. It also reveals the outcome of the war between Voldemort’s forces and the defenders of Hogwarts.
The date is distinct from the publication dates of the film adaptations, which arrived later. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was split into two films, released in 2010 and 2011.
