Apple introduced the Apple II at the first West Coast Computer Faire in 1977.
The event took place in San Francisco in April 1977, and the Apple II became one of the earliest successful mass-produced personal computers. Steve Wozniak designed most of the machine, while Steve Jobs focused strongly on packaging, presentation, and making the product easier to sell to ordinary customers.
Unlike the earlier Apple I, which was primarily a bare circuit board, the Apple II came in a molded plastic case and could connect to a television for display. It also supported color graphics and sound, features that helped broaden its appeal.
The Apple II became a major commercial success and established Apple as a significant personal-computer company. It is distinct from the Apple III, introduced later as a business-oriented successor.
