Answer
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
J.K. Rowling’s 2017 stage sequel was Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
The play is set nineteen years after the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Its story follows an adult Harry Potter, who works at the Ministry of Magic, and his son Albus Severus Potter as Albus begins at Hogwarts. Draco Malfoy’s son, Scorpius, is also central to the plot.
Rowling developed the story with playwright Jack Thorne and director John Tiffany. Thorne wrote the published script, which was released in 2016, while the stage production opened in London’s West End in July 2016. The work won major theatre awards, including the Olivier Award for Best New Play.
Although often called the eighth Harry Potter story, it is a play script rather than one of Rowling’s seven main novels. Its published form records the dialogue and stage directions of the theatrical production.
