What was the name of J.K. Rowling’s 2012 interactive writing website?

The story behind the answer

J.K. Rowling’s 2012 interactive writing website was called Pottermore.

Pottermore launched in April 2012 after a limited beta period and offered digital versions of the Harry Potter books, interactive features, and new writing by Rowling. Users could be sorted into Hogwarts houses, receive a wand, and explore locations and moments from the wizarding world.

The website was renamed Wizarding World Digital in 2019, while the broader Wizarding World brand became the main home for Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts material. This creates a common mix-up: Pottermore was the earlier website, whereas Wizarding World is the later brand and online platform. Rowling’s supplementary writing on subjects such as wandlore and wizarding history helped expand the original novels.
