What was the name of Apple’s first computer, designed by Steve Wozniak and sold in 1976?

The story behind the answer

Apple’s first computer, designed by Steve Wozniak and sold in 1976, was the Apple I. Steve Jobs helped market the machine and arrange its early sale.

Unlike most later personal computers, the Apple I was sold as a single assembled circuit board. Buyers generally had to provide a keyboard, display, power supply, and case. The machine used a MOS Technology 6502 processor and could connect to an ordinary television for video output.

The first major order came from the Byte Shop in Mountain View, California, which requested 50 assembled units. Apple produced about 200 Apple I computers before introducing the much more successful Apple II. Surviving Apple I units are now highly valued historical artifacts.
