What was the debut studio album of the Pussycat Dolls?

The story behind the answer

PCD was the debut studio album of the Pussycat Dolls.

A&M Records released PCD on 13 September 2005. The album took its title from the group’s initials and introduced the recording lineup led by Nicole Scherzinger, alongside Carmit Bachar, Ashley Roberts, Jessica Sutta, Melody Thornton and Kimberly Wyatt.

PCD included the singles “Don’t Cha,” “Stickwitu” and “Buttons.” “Don’t Cha” became a major international hit and helped turn the Pussycat Dolls from a burlesque-inspired performance troupe into a globally successful pop group.

The title is often confused with Doll Domination, the group’s second and final studio album, released in 2008. The Pussycat Dolls had existed as a Los Angeles performance troupe before their recording career, but PCD is specifically the name of their first studio album. The group’s changing membership also explains why some sources list different numbers of performers.
