What was the debut studio album of South Korean girl group TWICE?

The story behind the answer

The Story Begins was the debut studio release of South Korean girl group TWICE.

JYP Entertainment released The Story Begins as TWICE’s first extended play on 20 October 2015. The group had been formed through the reality competition Sixteen, and its initial lineup consisted of Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu.

The EP’s lead single was “Like Ooh-Ahh,” a song that introduced TWICE’s bright, highly choreographed pop style. The release established the group in South Korea and began a discography that later included major albums such as Twicetagram and Formula of Love: O+T=<3.

The Story Begins is sometimes mistakenly called an album in the full-length sense. Technically, it is an extended play, but it is commonly described as TWICE’s debut album or debut release. Page Two was the group’s second EP, released in 2016.
