What was MAMAMOO’s debut single, released in 2014?

MAMAMOO’s debut single, released in 2014, was “Mr. Ambiguous.”

The South Korean girl group released the song on June 18, 2014, under RBW. “Mr. Ambiguous” introduced MAMAMOO’s vocal-focused style, combining modern R&B and pop with a retro performance concept. The group’s members are Solar, Moonbyul, Wheein, and Hwasa.

The song’s music video included cameo appearances by well-known Korean musicians and entertainers, helping present MAMAMOO as performers with strong live and vocal identities. The group had already drawn attention through pre-debut collaborations, but “Mr. Ambiguous” was its official recorded debut.

The title is sometimes confused with MAMAMOO’s later releases. “Piano Man” was a 2014 follow-up single, “Décalcomanie” came in 2016, and “Starry Night” was released in 2018. None of those songs was the group’s debut.
