What was Beyoncé’s first solo album called?

The story behind the answer

Beyoncé’s first solo album was called Dangerously in Love.

Columbia Records released Dangerously in Love on June 23, 2003. Beyoncé recorded it while she was still a member of Destiny’s Child, and the album established a separate identity for her beyond the group’s work.

The album included “Crazy in Love,” featuring Jay-Z, and “Baby Boy,” featuring Sean Paul. Both songs became major international hits. “Dangerously in Love 2,” a reworked version of a Destiny’s Child song, also appeared on the album.

At the 46th Annual Grammy Awards in 2004, the album helped Beyoncé win five awards, tying the record for the most Grammys won by a female artist in one night at that time. Her later solo albums included B’Day, I Am... Sasha Fierce, 4, Beyoncé, Lemonade, Renaissance, and Cowboy Carter.
