Cowboy Carter was the title of Beyoncé’s 2024 country-influenced studio album. It was released on March 29, 2024, through Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records.
The album is officially styled COWBOY CARTER and is the second act in a planned trilogy that began with Renaissance in 2022. Beyoncé introduced the project after releasing “Texas Hold ’Em” and “16 Carriages” in February 2024.
Cowboy Carter explores country, Americana, rock, blues, and other roots-oriented styles. Its guest appearances include Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Linda Martell, Miley Cyrus, and Post Malone. Beyoncé’s version of “Jolene” is a notable reinterpretation of Dolly Parton’s classic song.
The title is sometimes confused with the album’s lead single, “Texas Hold ’Em,” or with Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s joint surname, The Carters. Cowboy Carter is the album title, while those other names refer to a song and a family or professional identity.
