What title did J.K. Rowling give the 2016 screenplay set in the Harry Potter universe?

The story behind the answer

J.K. Rowling gave the 2016 screenplay the title Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

The film is set decades before the Harry Potter stories and follows magizoologist Newt Scamander during a visit to New York in 1926. Rowling wrote the screenplay, making it her screenwriting debut. The title comes from a fictional Hogwarts textbook attributed to Newt Scamander.

The name had already been used for a 2001 charity book credited to the fictional author Newt Scamander. That earlier work was presented as a reproduction of a Hogwarts textbook and raised money for Comic Relief. The film expanded the brief fictional reference into a five-film planned series, with Eddie Redmayne portraying Newt. It is therefore connected to Harry Potter but is not an adaptation of one of the seven main novels.
