What perspective does Resident Evil 7: Biohazard primarily use during gameplay?
Answer
First-person perspective
Answer
First-person perspective
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard primarily uses a first-person perspective during gameplay.
The 2017 Capcom game presents the world through the eyes of Ethan Winters, making exploration and encounters feel immediate and intimate. This was a major presentation change for the main series, which had traditionally used fixed camera angles or, in later entries, an over-the-shoulder third-person view.
Resident Evil 7 was built with Capcom’s RE Engine and released for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One. It also supported PlayStation VR, where the first-person viewpoint was especially important to the game’s immersion.
The perspective is not the same as the game’s entire design identity: it remains a Resident Evil title through its puzzles, item management, environmental exploration, and biological-horror story. The later Resident Evil Village also uses first-person presentation.
