MJ’s boyfriend in Spider-Man: Brand New Day is identified as Paul.
Eman Esfandi plays the unnamed boyfriend, whose name appears as “Paul” in the film’s subtitles. The character is connected to MJ’s life after she and Ned return to New York following their graduation from MIT.
Peter Parker encounters MJ and sees her kiss Paul, intensifying the emotional consequences of the world forgetting Peter’s identity. Peter still remembers MJ, but MJ does not remember their relationship.
The film does not identify this character as Paul Rabin from the comics. Esfandi denied that the role was intended to portray that specific comic-book character, making the subtitle name the film’s canonical identifier.
