What kind of toy is Dr. Nutcase in Toy Story 5?

Dr. Nutcase in Toy Story 5 is a daredevil peanut toy.

The character is peanut-shaped and designed as an adventurous stunt toy. In the film’s technology-focused conflict, Dr. Nutcase represents the older style of physical play that competes with increasingly sophisticated digital toys. His fear of technology adds comic contrast to his daredevil identity.

A common mix-up is confusing Dr. Nutcase with Atlas, the GPS-themed hippo, or Snappy, the camera-themed toy. Those characters also belong to the new group introduced in Toy Story 5, but their designs and functions are different. Dr. Nutcase is voiced by comedian and actor Matty Matheson. The film is directed by Andrew Stanton and is scheduled as the fifth main Toy Story feature, following Toy Story 4 from 2019.
