What is the title of the 2016 stage play based on a story by J.K. Rowling?

The 2016 stage play based on a story by J.K. Rowling is Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. The play was written by Jack Thorne and directed by John Tiffany, with story credited to Rowling, Thorne, and Tiffany.

It is set nineteen years after the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The central relationship is between Harry, now a Ministry of Magic employee, and his younger son Albus Severus Potter. Albus becomes friends with Scorpius Malfoy, Draco Malfoy’s son.

The original production premiered in London’s West End at the Palace Theatre in 2016. It was initially presented in two parts, reflecting the play’s large cast, extensive stage illusions, and long story.

The play is not an eighth novel written by Rowling. Its published script is a dramatic text, and its story expands the wizarding world through live theatre rather than through a conventional prose sequel.
