What is the title of J.K. Rowling’s 2021 children’s novel featuring a boy and his lost toy pig?

J.K. Rowling’s 2021 children’s novel featuring a boy and his lost toy pig is The Christmas Pig.

The Christmas Pig follows Jack, whose favorite toy, Dur Pig, is lost on Christmas Eve. A replacement toy called the Christmas Pig helps Jack enter the Land of the Lost, a fantastical place where missing objects may be found.

The novel was published in October 2021 and was Rowling’s first children’s book since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It is a standalone story rather than a continuation of the wizarding series, and its central themes include loss, friendship, courage, and love.

Readers sometimes confuse it with The Ickabog, another standalone children’s novel Rowling published in 2020. The distinctive toy-pig plot belongs to The Christmas Pig, while The Ickabog centers on a mythical creature and the kingdom of Cornucopia.
