What is the title of J.K. Rowling’s 2016 stage play about Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy?

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the title of J.K. Rowling’s 2016 stage play about Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy. The story is set nineteen years after the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

The play follows Albus, Harry Potter’s younger son, as he begins at Hogwarts and struggles with his family’s legacy. Scorpius, the son of Draco Malfoy, becomes his closest friend. Their actions lead to dangerous changes involving the past and the future.

The published script credits Rowling, John Tiffany, and Jack Thorne, with Thorne credited as the playwright. The original stage production opened in London’s West End in 2016. It is a play rather than an eighth Harry Potter novel, although it continues the story of the wizarding world.
