What is the title of J.K. Rowling’s 2013 novel featuring detective Cormoran Strike?

J.K. Rowling’s 2013 novel featuring detective Cormoran Strike is The Cuckoo’s Calling.

The Cuckoo’s Calling was published in 2013 under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. It introduces private investigator Cormoran Strike and his temporary secretary, Robin Ellacott. The plot begins when model Lula Landry dies in a fall from a London apartment, and Strike is hired to investigate whether the death was suicide.

The novel was initially presented as the work of an unknown former military police officer. Rowling’s authorship was revealed later in 2013, after the pseudonym was publicly identified. The revelation drew renewed attention to the book and its detective series.

The later Cormoran Strike novels are The Silkworm, Career of Evil, Lethal White, Troubled Blood, The Ink Black Heart, and The Running Grave. The Cuckoo’s Calling is therefore the series opener, not one of its later installments.
