“What It Sounds Like” is the ninth track on the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack.
The song is also the film’s final major musical number. It plays as Rumi reaches Namsan Tower and breaks Mira and Zoey out of their trance, allowing Huntrix to reunite and confront Gwi-Ma and the Saja Boys.
Its lyrics connect directly to Rumi’s emotional journey. Rather than presenting identity as something that must be hidden or perfected, the song emphasizes accepting painful and fragmented parts of oneself.
The soundtrack was released on June 20, 2025, the same day as the film’s Netflix debut. “What It Sounds Like” should not be confused with “Golden,” which appears earlier as Huntrix’s aspirational single and a key part of the Honmoon storyline.
