Jean Grey is the telepathic villain who can possess bodies in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Her ability allows her consciousness to move from one person to another while she pursues information about her sister Sara.
Jean’s powers make her threat different from the armored criminals Peter usually fights. She can influence people such as Mac Gargan, Bruce Banner, and Frank Castle, turning familiar characters into dangers Peter must confront.
Peter eventually identifies Jean and uses a universal inhibitor to block her powers. Their conflict also becomes personal, because both characters are dealing with loss and the consequences of trying to survive without support.
