What is the name of the train station where Harry Potter first boards the Hogwarts Express?

The story behind the answer

Harry Potter first boards the Hogwarts Express at King's Cross Station.

In Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Harry travels to London and must find Platform 9¾, the magical platform used by students heading to Hogwarts. He meets the Weasley family there, and the encounter leads to his first journey by train to the school.

King's Cross is a real major railway station in London. Platform 9¾ is fictional, and the books place it between platforms 9 and 10. The station’s strong association with the series led to a Platform 9¾ shop and a photographed luggage-trolley installation for visitors.

Readers sometimes name Euston or another London terminus because the station scenes are part of a fictional magical system rather than an ordinary rail itinerary. The canonical location in Rowling’s story is King’s Cross. The film productions also used station locations and sets to represent the magical platform.
