What is the name of the small town in Pixar’s Cars?

The story behind the answer

The small town in Pixar’s Cars is called Radiator Springs.

Radiator Springs is a fictional community on historic U.S. Route 66 in the southwestern United States. Lightning McQueen reaches it after accidentally damaging the road and is ordered to repair it before leaving. The town’s residents become the people who teach him about friendship, humility, and life away from racing.

The setting was inspired by real Route 66 communities and landmarks. Pixar artists and writers researched the highway’s scenery, roadside architecture, and changing fortunes after Interstate highways diverted traffic. The film presents Radiator Springs as a once-busy stop that has declined but still has a strong local identity.

The town includes characters such as Doc Hudson, Sally Carrera, Mater, Luigi, and Ramone. Radiator Springs also returns in Cars 2 and Cars 3, although the later films spend more time at international races and professional racing venues.
