What is the name of the police officer who partners with Claire Redfield in Resident Evil 2?

Leon S. Kennedy is the police officer who partners with Claire Redfield in Resident Evil 2.

Leon arrives in Raccoon City for his first day as a police officer, only to find the city overwhelmed by the outbreak. He meets Claire near the start of the game, and the two travel through connected locations while pursuing different goals and helping one another survive.

Resident Evil 2 presents Leon and Claire as separate playable protagonists with linked scenarios. Leon’s route introduces Ada Wong and focuses on his development from inexperienced officer to capable survivor. Claire’s route emphasizes her search for her brother Chris and her protection of Sherry Birkin.

Leon is often associated primarily with Resident Evil 4 because that game made him an established government agent. In Resident Evil 2, however, he is still a rookie police officer, and that distinction is central to his character arc.
