What is the name of the main hidden-blade-wielding hero in Assassin's Creed Rogue?

The main hero of Assassin's Creed Rogue is Shay Patrick Cormac.

Shay begins the game as an Assassin operating in the North Atlantic during the eighteenth century. After becoming disillusioned with the Brotherhood's methods, he defects to the Templars and hunts former allies. This makes Rogue unusual within the series because its playable protagonist spends most of the story serving the faction normally presented as the Assassins' enemy.

The game connects several earlier narratives. Achilles Davenport appears as Shay's Assassin mentor, while characters and events link Rogue to Assassin's Creed III and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Arno Dorian belongs to Assassin's Creed Unity and is not Rogue's protagonist, although the games' timelines overlap around the changing political world of the eighteenth century.
