What is the name of the kingdom in 'Frozen'?

The story behind the answer

The kingdom in “Frozen” is called Arendelle. It is the Scandinavian-inspired realm ruled by Queen Elsa and her younger sister, Princess Anna, and it forms the central setting for the film’s story.

Arendelle is thrown into crisis when Elsa’s ice powers accidentally reveal themselves during her coronation. Fearing that she will hurt others, Elsa flees into the mountains and unintentionally covers the kingdom in an endless winter. Anna then leaves Arendelle to find her sister, joined by Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf.

The kingdom’s name is sometimes mixed up with other Disney locations. Corona is Rapunzel’s kingdom in “Tangled,” DunBroch is the setting associated with “Brave,” and Andalasia is the fictional world from “Enchanted.” Arendelle was inspired partly by Norway, especially in its architecture, clothing, landscapes, and cultural details. “Frozen,” released in 2013, was loosely inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s 1844 fairy tale “The Snow Queen,” although Arendelle and its royal family were created for Disney’s adaptation.
