The forklift character who assists Luigi is Guido.
Guido is a small blue Italian forklift who works with Luigi at Luigi’s Casa Della Tires in Radiator Springs. He helps handle tires and equipment, and his enthusiasm for racing makes him an important part of Lightning McQueen’s pit crew. Although he is compact, Guido is celebrated for being an exceptionally fast tire changer.
Guido and Luigi share a strong Italian identity and a passion for Ferrari. Luigi is modeled on a 1959 Fiat 500, while Guido’s front resembles a small Italian-style microcar, often compared with a BMW Isetta. Guido is voiced by Guido Quaroni, a Pixar technical director whose first name helped inspire the character’s name.
A memorable joke is that Guido generally speaks Italian, creating a language barrier with the other characters. He later proves his ability during a dramatic pit stop, changing Lightning’s tires with remarkable speed. Red is Radiator Springs’ fire engine, Fillmore runs the organic-fuel shop, and Ramone is the town’s custom-paint specialist.
