Sadie Sink plays the mutant Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Jean is searching for her sister Sara, who has been taken by the Department of Damage Control. Her powers include telepathy, telekinesis, and possession, but the film presents her as someone still learning how to control them.
Jean Grey is one of Marvel Comics’ best-known X-Men characters. Earlier live-action versions were played by Famke Janssen and Sophie Turner. The Brand New Day version is a Marvel Cinematic Universe interpretation and has a different origin story from those earlier films.
The movie portrays Jean as lonely, hurt, and angry rather than as an established superhero. Her conflict with Peter grows from her belief that her actions are justified while she searches for her sister.
