Kennilworthy Whisp is the fictional author credited on J.K. Rowling’s companion book Quidditch Through the Ages. The book presents a history and explanation of the wizarding sport of Quidditch.
Within the Harry Potter world, Whisp is described as an authority on Quidditch. The real-world edition was published as a charity companion volume, alongside Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, with proceeds supporting Comic Relief. The format imitates a Hogwarts library book, including a fictional ownership label associated with Harry Potter.
Kennilworthy Whisp is not Newt Scamander, although Newt is the credited fictional author of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Bathilda Bagshot is associated with A History of Magic, while Gilderoy Lockhart is a fictional Hogwarts teacher and author of popular books.
