The Assassin Brotherhood’s signature concealed wrist weapon in Assassin’s Creed is the Hidden Blade.
The Hidden Blade is a retractable blade worn beneath an Assassin’s sleeve. It is designed for discreet strikes and becomes one of the most recognizable symbols of the franchise. Altaïr uses it in the first game, and later Assassins receive modified versions with additional mechanisms.
The weapon is fictional within the series, although its design reflects the games’ interest in historical stealth and assassination traditions. In the original story, Altaïr’s Hidden Blade is connected to the Assassin order and to the rituals and risks associated with using it.
Later games introduce related equipment, including firearms, poison mechanisms, and the Phantom Blade used by Arno Dorian in Assassin’s Creed Unity. These are distinct weapons. The Phantom Blade can launch projectiles, while the Hidden Blade remains the basic concealed wrist blade associated with the Brotherhood.
