Alice is the name of Milla Jovovich’s character in the Resident Evil film series.
Alice is an original character created for the films rather than a direct adaptation of one of the main playable protagonists from Capcom’s Resident Evil games. She first appears in the 2002 film Resident Evil, directed by Paul W. S. Anderson, and becomes the central figure across the live-action series.
The movies place Alice in conflicts involving the Umbrella Corporation, biological weapons, laboratories, and outbreaks. Her identity and abilities develop throughout the series, making her a distinct film character even as the movies borrow locations, creatures, and supporting figures from the games.
The game characters Jill Valentine, Claire Redfield, and Ada Wong also appear in the film series, which can cause confusion over who is the primary protagonist. Jovovich portrays Alice in all six original live-action Resident Evil films, from Resident Evil through Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.
