What is the name of Mater’s voice actor in Pixar’s Cars movies?

Larry the Cable Guy is the voice actor for Mater in Pixar’s Cars movies.

Larry the Cable Guy is the stage name of comedian and actor Daniel Lawrence Whitney. He voices Tow Mater, a rusty tow truck from Radiator Springs who becomes Lightning McQueen’s closest friend. Mater’s country-inflected speech, enthusiasm, and literal-minded humor make him one of the franchise’s most recognizable characters.

Mater first appears as a local tow truck who shows Lightning around Radiator Springs. Although he seems unsophisticated, he is loyal, observant, and brave. Cars 2 gives him a much larger role when an international spy operation mistakenly treats him as a secret agent. He also appears in the animated short series Mater’s Tall Tales.

The answer is the performer’s public stage name, not his birth name. Daniel Lawrence Whitney is the actor behind Larry the Cable Guy. Mater should also be distinguished from other comic characters voiced by different performers in Pixar films, such as Mike Wazowski in Monsters, Inc.
