What is the name of J.K. Rowling’s wizarding-world film series about Newt Scamander?

J.K. Rowling’s wizarding-world film series about Newt Scamander is Fantastic Beasts.

The series began with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in 2016. Eddie Redmayne plays Newt Scamander, a magizoologist whose travels bring him into conflicts involving magical creatures and the rise of the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald.

Rowling wrote the screenplays for the first three films. The films expand the wizarding world beyond Harry Potter and move the setting to places including New York, Paris, and London during the twentieth century.

Fantastic Beasts is also the title of a Hogwarts textbook credited in the fictional world to Newt Scamander. The 2001 companion book using that title was presented as a charity publication, while the later films form a separate cinematic series.
