J.K. Rowling’s website and digital Harry Potter platform launched in 2011 was called Pottermore. It offered interactive experiences, additional writing by Rowling, and digital editions of the Harry Potter books.
Pottermore opened to the public in April 2012 after an earlier limited period for selected users. Visitors could be sorted into Hogwarts houses, receive wand information, and explore material connected with the novels.
The website was renamed Wizarding World in 2019 as the broader Wizarding World digital brand developed. That later name is therefore a common mix-up, but Pottermore was the platform’s original name and the answer to the launch-era question.
