What is the name of J.K. Rowling’s detective who stars in the Strike novels?
Answer
Cormoran Strike
Answer
Cormoran Strike
Cormoran Strike is the detective who stars in J.K. Rowling’s Strike novels.
The character first appears in The Cuckoo’s Calling, published in 2013 under Rowling’s pseudonym Robert Galbraith. Strike is a private investigator in London and a former Special Investigation Branch investigator in the Royal Military Police. His military background contributes to his investigative skills and to the physical injuries he carries.
Robin Ellacott begins working as Strike’s temporary secretary and becomes his trusted investigative partner. Their professional relationship and evolving personal connection form an important continuing thread across the novels.
The series includes The Silkworm, Career of Evil, Lethal White, Troubled Blood, The Ink Black Heart, and The Running Grave. Cormoran Strike should not be confused with detectives created by other writers, such as Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot or Jo Nesbø’s Harry Hole.
