What is the name of J.K. Rowling’s 2016 play about Harry Potter’s son?

The story behind the answer

J.K. Rowling’s 2016 play about Harry Potter’s son is Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

The play is set nineteen years after the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Its story follows Harry as an adult employee of the Ministry of Magic and his son Albus Severus Potter, who begins at Hogwarts and struggles with his family’s reputation.

Rowling developed the stage story with playwright Jack Thorne and director John Tiffany. Thorne wrote the published script, while the production was created in collaboration with Rowling and the theatrical team.

The work was staged in London’s West End in 2016. It is a two-part stage play, not one of Rowling’s seven original Harry Potter novels, although it continues the story’s fictional world.
